SHOOTING GUARD

I play in position shooting guard, and my work is to take the ball and shoot into the basket. About this position everyone think that is the easier position, but it’s the most responsible. A shooting guard is generally just what you think it means: someone whose primary job is to shoot the ball, either as a spot up shooter, catching and releasing, or coming off screens; someone who can spot up from either in close or three-point range, and someone who defends the other team´ s off-guard.

Shooting guard also known as two guard or off guard, is one of five traditional positions on a basketball team. Players of the position are often shooter, leaner and quicker than forwards and are frequently called upon to create a high volume of shots. Some teams ask their shooting guards to bring up the ball as well; these players are known colloquially as "combo guards". A player who can switch between playing shooting guard and small forwards is known as a swingman.

While we are sometimes the best jump-shooters on the floor, we can also drive to the basket well. I should be a good ball handler and be able to pass reasonably well, although passing is not my main priority, it is often a bonus. I’m the best shooter in the court. I’m player who can shoot the ball from anywhere on the court. If the team needs a basket, look for me to score. When I shoots the ball, the ball snaps trough the rim, you can hear a snapping sound and you can see smoke coming from the net. That’s why the people call us “Gunsmoke Shooting Guards”.
